Superintendent Mr. Alvin Pressley on Medical Leave; Dr. Tracie Swilley Appointed Acting Superintendent

While we hope for Mr. Pressley’s full recovery and swift return, we remain grateful for the leadership he has already shown since joining the Fairfield family. Though his tenure has only just begun, he has made a strong and positive impression, and we look forward to continuing our work with him in the future. The Board extends our thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support during this time.

To ensure stability and continuity for our students and families, the Board has appointed Dr. Swilley to lead the District in the interim. Dr. Swilley currently serves as our Assistant Superintendent of Academics and previously served with distinction as principal of Fairfield Central High School for 12 years. She was recently recognized as the 2025 National Principal of the Year by the National Association of Secondary School Principals. Her deep knowledge of our district and proven leadership make her exceptionally well-suited to guide us during this transitional period.

We are also pleased to share that our former Superintendent, Dr. J.R. Green, has graciously agreed to assist and support the District during Mr. Pressley’s medical leave. Dr. Green’s transformational leadership over his 12-year tenure prior to his retirement in 2024 left a lasting legacy in our community. His commitment to providing guidance to Dr. Swilley and the Board is deeply appreciated.

We thank you for your continued support and partnership as we work together to make the 2025–2026 school year a successful and enriching experience for our students, families, staff, and community.
