Special Services

Director's Message

The Fairfield County School system follows Federal law, State law, and the State Board of Educations Regulations in providing for a free and appropriate public education for all children with disabilities.

Our Office of Special Services serves students with disabilities in the least restrictive environment based on individual needs.  In an effort to meet the needs of students identified as having disabilities,  Fairfield County Schools has a full continuum of special education programs.  Federal and state guidelines require that each student with disabilities participate with non-disabled students to the maximum extent appropriate to meet the needs of each student.  "Continuum of Services" refers to a range of placement options.
