Erin's Law

In August of 2014, the South Carolina legislature passed legislation known as Erin’s Law as part of Academic Standards for Health and Safety Education to assist in protecting and educating students on child sexual abuse. As written, “The purpose of the law is to assure that all students, Pre-Kindergarten through High School receive this prevention instruction during the academic school year. The intent of the law is to give students skills in knowing how to stay safe from sexual assault and how to report any incidents of sexual assault.”
Please contact the South Carolina Department of Social Services (DSS) at 1-888-CARE4US (888-227-3487) if you have any concerns with sexual abuse or assault.
