Draft 2022 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready English Language Arts Standards

The field review period will open on August 10, 2022, at 8:00 AM and will close on September 5, 2022, at 11:45 PM. Public comments must be submitted via the online feedback survey forms provided in the links below. All stakeholders are invited to review the draft and provide feedback on or before September 5, 2022, at 11:45 PM. The Writing Committee will review feedback and necessary revisions will be made to the standards draft.

Draft 2022 South Carolina College- and Career-Ready English Language Arts Standards

Included in the survey narratives is information for submitting feedback. Also, detailed information regarding the organization of the standards and the theoretical foundations that informed this work are included in the standards draft. 

The feedback surveys were developed, with permission, using the criteria for assessment of standards found in The State of State Standards Post Common Core report published by Fordham Institute in 2018. The field review feedback surveys can be accessed using the following links:

Following the field review, the standards draft will be updated to reflect feedback and other panel/task force input. The standards will then be submitted to the State Board of Education (SBE) for approval.
